Body symptoms without arguable organic morbid changes are characteristic for somatoform disorders. These disorders are manifested by frequent complaints of body symptoms, and by requests for a medical exploration in spite of that the findings are repeatedly negative, and the patient is assured by the doctor that the symptoms are not based on body.
These body symptoms and related worries are so unpleasant for the patient that they lead to serious stress, and affect the functional ability in social and work roles.
