Summary: The treatment - resistant depression typically refers to inadequate response to at least 2 antidepressant trials of adequate doses and duration. There are 3 classification systems of resistant depression (Thase a Rush, 1995, Souery et al., 1999 a Fava, 2003), which are used in contemporary research and clinical practice.
Authors discuss advantages and disadvantages of these models.
