Abstract
This study assesses the current view on mitral regurgitation from a theoretical, but more so, a clinical perspective. The aim of the study is to divide the different types of mitral regurgitation from the point of view of the causes and to shed light on the contrasting approaches to surgical procedure indications in individual types of mitral regurgitation.
