Abstract

Genetic or hereditary hemochromatosis (GH) is an autosomal recessive disease, whose nature is increasing and surpassing the physiological regulation of iron absorption in the small intestine, which leads to storage of excess iron in organs and tissues with the subsequent damage. These are guidelines approved bybthe Czech Society of Hepatology for diagnosis and teatment of hereditary hemochromatosis.
