The patients with the need for mechanical ventilation (MV) in the acute phase of myocardial infarction treated by primary PCI are characterized by high mortality rates inherent to the nature of their condition. Compared with literary data reported in the pre PCI era, the mortality of these patients receiving current therapy ïs substantially lower.
