Gastrointestinal endoscopy in patients on anticoagulant and antiplatelet agents

Publication at Third Faculty of Medicine |
2007

Abstract

The principles of safe digestive endoscopy include identifying groups of at-risk patients, including those receiving anticoagulant and antiplatelet drugs. Based on the performed studies and conclusions of the experts, the recommended procedures are developed, whose task is to contribute to minimizing the risks of invasive endoscopic methods, especially in these patients.

For high-risk patients, it is necessary to consult the procedure with other specialists (cardiologists, hematologists, anaesthesiologists, etc.)
