The patients with psychotic diseases, especially with schizophrenia diagnosis have one of the highest relapse rates characterized by long-stay hospitalization. The system ITAREPS (Information Technology Aided RElapse Prevention in Schizophrenia)has been developed for rapid and targeted recognition of early warning signs of psychotic disorder relapse.
It employs modern communication and information technology for timely intervention during initial phase of relapse. The goal of this article is to estimate benefits and costs of the ITAREPS system.
The cista and benefits are analysed on the basis of economic data gathered from mental homes, statistical data from Institute of Health Information and Statistics of the Czech Republic (UZIS), and statistical data from ITAREPS system.
