Abstrakt
Technological advances in Medicine to sustain life in the face of critical terminal or debilitating illness have been so rapid that a conflict has occured between the aim of prolonging life (Quality of Life) and the aim of promoting quality of life. A duty of non-maleficence is stronger than a duty of benificence, when it prolongs suffering or entairs a loss of dignity.
