DTI as a possible diagnostic marker of damage to the periventricular white matter in normal pressure hydrocephalus

Abstract

Normal pressure hydrocephalus syndrome is a disease whose etiology remains unknown. Probability of a diagnosis and a good therapeutic effect drainage operation increases with the accumulation of sufficiently specific and sensitive biomarkers of disease.

One of the possible causes of clinical symptoms of patients is considered to damage the periventricular white matter. The aim of this study was to compare the values of diffusion periventricular white matter of patients with NPH and control group.
