Abstract
Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease has currently become a treatable disease; however it remains a very serious global problem. In Europe its prevalence ranges between 4-10% in individuals over 40 years of age.
However this disease is highly underdiagnosed and more realistic expetactions present twice higher numbers of patients and its prevalence is increasing, especiall among women.
