Abstract
Bronchogenic carcinoma is the worldwide most common malignant tumor in terms of mortality. The Czech Republic belongs among countries with high incidence and mortality.
Treatment results, despite the undeniable progress, remain still unsatisfactory and most patients die on this disease; longterm survival is an exception. The most important prognostic factor is the stage at diagnosis.
