Copper and drinking water: situation in the Czech Republic

Abstract

The paper deals with the occurrence of copper (Cu) in drinking water of the Czech Republic. Possible sources of Cu in drinking water, health risks, and requirements for products in contact with drinking water are discussed.

The results of study investigating relationships between volume of sample or stagnation time and Cu concentration in water are presented. The study was done in new family house with copper plumbing and repeated after one year to determine changes over the time.
