Abstract
Elderly people represent a potentially vulnerable group for the occurrence of nutritional status disorders. Nutritional status assessment and evaluation in elderly is an essential part of health care of this population group.
Many studies indicated that a significant part of elderly people were found in the state of malnutrition or the risk of malnutrition. Our project described the nutritional status of 815 retirement homes clients in Prague. 10.2% were found to be malnourished and 39.4% were at risk of malnutrition.
The study results confirmed that elderly, especially females, must be considered a nutritionally vulnerable population group, that needs attention.
