Economic Valuation of Forest Quality Change in the Jizerske hory Mountains: the Evidence from Contingent Behavior Study

Publication

Abstract

This paper presents the results from recreation demand model constructed for the purpose of placing a recreation value on the Jizerske hory Mountains in the Czech Republic. For this reason the single site travel cost model with a Poisson specification was applied.

In addition, the welfare change associated with four public programs that improve or decline environmental quality of the site was estimated. The contingent behavior model which relies on both observed behaviors and stated behaviors was used to infer the value of these welfare changes caused to recreation users.
