Abstract

Non-steroid antiinflammatory drugs (NSA) are the most frequently prescribed drugs all over the world. That is why in everyday medicine practice their adverse effects can be encountered relatively often.

Among them, gastrotoxicity, nephrotoxicity and haemostasis involvement dominate. In this work, a survey of NSAIDs adverse effects in kidney is presented.

Pathogenetic mechanisms, the most frequent clinical manifestations, clinical pictures as well as prevention mechanisms are discussed. Adverse effects awareness should play an important role in the NSAIDs selection for any patient, but in the rheumatology treatment it is of special importance.
