This chapter deals with the etiological factors of renal cell carcinoma, including smoking, the influence of obesity, hypertension and antihypertensive therapy and the effect of chronic renal insuficiency in dialysis patients in relation to the development of renal cell carcinoma. It is examined in detail the genetic factors of hereditaly and familiarly conditional renal cell carcinoma.
