Abstract
More than 1000 species of seed plant and fungi are active in hypoglycemic tests; considering a wide variety of chemical classes of natural compounds it is clear that a variety of mechanisms must be involved in this effect; the contribution is an attempt at categorization of plant antidiabetics and their mechanism of action
