Addiction is one of the chronic diseases of the CNS. Advances in understanding the neurobiological mechanisms of addiction can significantly contribute to the prevention and treatment of drug addictions.
The state of addiction is accompanied by a number of other complications, which largely determine the danger of the addiction and its interaction. The neurobiological changes in the CNS associated with addiction may alter the effect of drugs used in other indications, especially drugs acting on the CNS.
The book deals with the characteristics of the population of drug-addicted pregnant women, the consequences of drug use in pregnancy, the influence of individual groups of addictive substances on the fetus and the course of pregnancy and the treatment of addiction in this period.
