Sunitinib - new clinical studies

Publication |
2007

Abstract

Sunitinib is an inhibitor of a number of tyrosine kinases, enzymes that play a key role in the process of cell proliferation. These are mainly platelet-derived growth factor (PDGFR-a and b) and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGFR-1, 2 and 3) receptor-associated tyrosine kinases.

However, an inhibitory effect on stem cell factor (KIT) receptors, Fms-like tyrosinase-3 (FLT3), colony stimulating factor type 1 (CSF-1R) and glial cell-derived neurotrophic factor (RET) is also mentioned.
