Abstract

Hereditary peripheral neuropathies are a heterogeneous group of genetically determined degenerative diseases affecting peripheral nerves. It is one of the most common inherited neuromuscular diseases.

Causal therapy is not yet known, however, diagnostics and classification have developed rapidly in recent years, mainly due to new discoveries in molecular genetics. It is a group of diseases that do not shorten life expectancy, but significantly affects its quality.

It is a common cause of disorders and sometimes loss of gait, often leading to reduced working capacity, and later often to full disability.
