Abstract

Rosacea is a common, non-infectious, chronic dermatitis of the face, like acne. It is characterized by impairment of pilosebaceous unit and increased reactivity of capillaries leading to the formation of erythema and telangiectasias.

It affects about 10% of people with phototype I and II. It starts between 30-50 years of age, mainly in women.

Rhinophyma-the most serious stage of rosace is more often in men.
