The aim of this study was to evaluate the influence of atopic dermatitis of the child on the quality of life of the members of his family. Furthermore to compare their quality of life with the quality of life of parents of children who are suffering with other skin diseases.
According to this study we conducted at the Dermatovenerology Department 2nd Medical Faculty of Charles University in Prague, Czech Republic, Czech validation of the questionnaire Dermatitis Family Impact Questionnaire ("Vliv atopického ekzému dítěte na členy jeho rodiny"). Questionnaire "Vliv atopického ekzému dítěte na členy jeho rodiny" was filled by 142 parents.
The average score of the families with a child suffering with AD was 8,66 ( SD=6, 47, n=99). Comparing the average score of quality of life of families of children with other skin diseases (naevus, verruca vulgaris and molluscum contagiosum) was 1,22 (SD=2,73, n=19; SD=1,50, n=4; SD=2,12, n=2).
