Abstract
In recent years, there has been an increasing effort in developed countries to develop standardized procedures for the treatment of opioids. The same trend is being promoted in our republic.
The breakthrough in the method of opioid administration was the Frankfurt Consensus, which took place as early as 1998. Opioids are among the potent drugs for the treatment of the most serious diseases and severe painful conditions, although their detailed use in common and less standard situations is not always correct.
The following text outlines the basic terms and rules of opioid use regardless of the etiology of the disease.
