Abstract
Treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus is currently effective. If all assumptions are confirmed and both gliptins (DPP-4 inhibitors) and GLP-1 receptor agonists reduce cardiovascular disease risk, these drugs will move to one of the first places in treatment algorithms.
With growing knowledge about the pathophysiology of diabetes we are able to use more and more the opportunities of individual metabolism deviations with a target not only to reduce glycemia but to reduce it safely.
