Abstract

Essential requirement to maintain as low glucose, respectively, the lowest value of glycated hemoglobin, may have unpleasant side-effect in the form of severe hypoglycemia or lighter repeated hypoglycemia. From this perspective, it is necessary to weigh the risk of hypoglycemia compared to the risk of specific complications of diabetes.

We consider it essential to select such an insulin and insulin such a scheme, which reduces the risk of hypoglycemia at comparable levels of glycemic control. It should be emphasized that insulin analogues will not solve the primary non-compliance of the patient, but may help improve patient cooperation.
