Case report: secondary thrombocytopenia and disseminated intravascular coagulopathy of the patient with generalized cancer of descending colon

Abstract

Case report follows the fate of the patient, which led to a GP regular and frequent problems - back pain. Laboratory was found thrombocytopenia and disseminated intravascular coagulation.

Suspected of acute leukemia, in which the bone marrow aspirate was not confirmed, bone marrow was infiltrated by tumor nehematologickým. We began the search for the primary tumor.

The performed examinations have been made based on a tumor suspicion from the gastrointestinal tract, the primary tumor localization was found to necropsy. The patient died of generalized descending colon tumor with metastases to the liver, bone and secondary thrombocytopenia, disseminated intravascular coagulation in the bone marrow infiltration of the primary tumor.
