Abstract

Pediatric anesthesia in our country is undergoing in the past decade, significant changes in which the vital importance of two factors. The first of these is the continuing development anesteziologických techniques, based on ever-widening portfolio of innovative equipment and new drugs and the greater availability of professional information.

The second factor that affects the current form of pediatric anesthesia, the population development. In recent years, consistently decreasing birth rate.

For this reason, declined in the last year the number of anesthesia in children by 7%, operating performance anesthesia for longer than two hours even declined by 12%.
