In diabetology, a new treatment strategy has recently come to the fore - the so-called incretin approach in the treatment of patients with diabetes mellitus (DM). Incretin mimetics are a new class of antidiabetic drugs that reduce hyperglycemia.
The action of incretin mimetics mimics the physiological activity of human hormones called incretins, which are commonly present in the body.
