Abstract
Metformin is not more only drug decreasing level of glycemia in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Its antihyperglyccemic effects use physicians also for the tratment of prediabetes, PCOS, GDM and DM in the chilhood.
Metformin has favourable influence on even next diseases - carcinoma, thyreopathies. Its proved safety enable to spread the indication spectrum.
