M. Halbwachs' Conception of the Collective Memory in the Context of Durkheimian Sociological School

Abstract

The paper focuses on Halbwachs' conception of collective memory as a sociological topic in the context of his work and position in the durkheimian sociological school. Reflected is Halbwachs' role as a founding and classic figure of the sociology of memory, but also some of the problematic and controversial aspects of his approaches.
