Abstract
The effect of glitazones is mediated by affecting the expression some nuclear genes (after the establishment of specific receptors, known as PPAR). The result is a complex effect on metabolism, reduce insulin resistance, including the reduction of gluconeogenesis in the liver.
In clinical practice, there are two Compounds - pioglitazone and rosiglitazone.
