Abstract
The book is a current summary of current knowledge about asthma in children and adolescents. In this age group, asthma has been at the top of the imaginary list of the most common chronic diseases for many years.
In addition, asthma occurs in many forms and is not always easily detected. Delayed diagnosis of the disease then leads to a delay in the initiation of treatment and thus to worse results and a higher risk of acute attacks of dyspnea and long-term illness.
The authors, employees of the Pediatric Clinic of the 2nd Faculty of Medicine, Charles University, are leading Czech experts in the field of pediatric respiratory diseases, and pediatric asthma has been at the forefront of their professional interest for many years. Necessary information will be found here primarily by primary care physicians, many of which will certainly be useful for specialists in the field of respiratory diseases and allergology.
