At the initiative of the Oncogynecology Section of the CGPS, conferences were held to update the standards for the treatment of gynecological malignancies. The negotiations took the form of an opposition to the submitted proposal and each dispute was resolved by a vote, after which a consensus was reached.
The consensus thus formed was subsequently the basis for the development of a standard of treatment. Due to the low incidence of non-epithelial cancers, only a standard has been developed for the treatment of epithelial cancers.
The incidence of ovarian cancer in the Czech Republic reached 23 / 100,000 women. Mortality remains relatively high, reaching 15 / 100,000.
Unfortunately, screening is still a method that is unrealistic today. This standard should be a guide for clinicians, insurance companies and other entities entering the healthcare process for patients with the disease.
The effort of the author, co-authors and opponents was to present the standard so that it corresponds to current knowledge and is comparable with the draft standards in EU countries. Its creation was based on the outline of standards.
