Long QT interval syndrome (LQTS) is serious genetic disease characterized by longer action potential duration of cardiomycytes casued by disorder of ion channels function. It is followed by lengthtening of corrected QT interval on resting surface ECG.
LQTS patients are at risk of polymorphic ventricular tachycardia "torsades de pointes", syncopy and possibly sudden death. There is also increased risk in asymptomatic carriers.
We present a case of patient with clinically diagnosed LQTS suspected in preparticipation with resting ECG.
