Abstract
Genetics of allergy represents the field with ever growing importance, particularly in the last decades with steadily increasing incidence of allergic diseases. The genetic background of an individual has strong influence on the initiation and further direction of allergic reactions.
The current review gives the wide overview of the latest knowledge of genetics of allergy. The general introduction is followed by subsequent paragraphs describing the different steps of allergic reaction: genetics of allergy associated with polymorphic HLA system, genetics of cytokine reactions, genetic components influencing IgE secretion.
The last paragraph presents the latest news in the field, with the growing list of new and surprising genes influencing the allergic outcome of immunopathological reactions. The research in the field of genetics of allergy is very advanced.
The knowledge of detailed molecular mechanism of allergic reaction and its genetic andividual variations is substantial for the development of new therapeutic strategies.
