Abstract
The publication defines and explains in the form of terms the terms used in the study of the occurrence, distribution and causes of common diseases and disorders. The main goal of the publication is an effort to unify epidemiological terminology, leading to the use of standard and comparable terms in scientific and routine work, and thus to better mutual understanding.
The thesis includes keywords of general epidemiology with a focus on the epidemiology of infectious diseases, epidemiological methodology, the most common terms in health statistics used by epidemiologists, but also on selected terms from related medical disciplines. A number of entries include their English equivalents to facilitate orientation in the English literature.
