Abstract

Atherosclerosis is currently mostly considered a disease of adulthood, but it begins in childhood and progresses very quickly. Its cardiovascular manifestations, such as myocardial infarction and sudden cardiac death, angina pectoris, ischemic stroke, aortic aneurysm, renovascular hypertension, and ischemic lower extremity disease, are still occurring at a young age.
