Abstrakt
This paper deals with the philosophical concept of a “spiritual person”, which was developed by Jan Patočka (1907–1977), probably the most important Czech philosopher of the twentieth century. More precisely, I discuss this concept through the framework of Patočka’s interpretation of modernity, with an emphasis on his understanding of the so-called "modern intelligentsia".
In addition, it is my aim to interpret Patočka’s understanding of the concepts of spiritual person/intellectual/intelligentsia through his theory of "existential movement" and link it to the theoretical framework of the term "non-political politics".
