In the Czech Republic, English is the language which is mostly taught as L2 at elementary and secondary schools. French is usually taught as L3.
The aim of the contribution is to present practical activities suitable for teaching French (L3) which make use of the cross-curricular transfer, specifically in the lessons of French (L3) when presenting grammar and lexis when making use of knowledge the learners acquired in the lessons of English (L2), because, from the historical perspective, there exist parallels between English and French both on the level of grammar and lexis. These include: conditionals, sequence of tenses, the usage of articles, word order, gradation of adjectives and adverbs.
Some of the activities focus on preventing and getting rid of errors andmistakes the learners make because of the negative transfer English-French on the level of pronunciation, grammar, orthography and lexis.
