The chapter is constructed as a comparison of the four chapters involved in a book. These particular chapters introduce the wider social contexts of the education of older adults in the V4 countries - Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland and Hungary.
The main thematic points of the comparison were: character of demographic change, terminolgy used for older adults as a social category, changes in economy and social policy that affect older adults, strategic political document on preparation for ageing of population, changes in intergenerational relations, links between older adults and volunteering and reflection of ageing society in scientific research and other expert materials.
