Selected institutional barriers and their role in the process of education of older adults

Abstract

Lifelong acces to education is incresingly accepted as both right and a necessity in our society. Many studies confirm that older adults want educational opportunities and benenfit from participation.

Nevertheless, the number of seniors participating in the learning process is rather limited. One of the many causes of this phenomenon is the existence of a number of institutional barriers.

Some of these aspects are discussed in this article.
