Catching up in security excellence : the case of EUSOC in Central and Eastern Europe

Abstrakt

The Graduate School for the Social Sciences (EUSOC) was established in 2005 to enhance scholarly performance of PhD students, in Central and Eastern Europe. Paper reflects ten years (2005-2014) of its operation in Sociology, Social Policy and Social Work, Political Science and Public Policy.

Students were invited on a competitive base to present their written PhD projects, which were evaluated by other PhD students and professors from several other participating universities. Some of them have become lecturers or researchers there later on.
