Abstract
An analysis of four anonymous 12th-century commentaries to a brief obscure poem (Versus maligni angeli) which was supposedly composed by a devil or a malign angel. Specail attention is paid to the variate of explanations the commentators offer to justify the fact that the poem, although Christian in content, was authored by an utmost opposer to Christianity.
