This Article concentrates on the comparison of the principles of transport services in the Czech Republic, the Federal Republic of Germany, in particular in Bavaria and in Austria. It compares legal regulations and the organisation of transport services.
A geographical transport probe analyses the state of public services in settlements of various size. The result shows specific national approaches, among which is Austria in the clear lead concerning the centralisation of the standarts and principles of the transport services.
In Bavaria, there is some degree of centralisation of regional railway transportation, however, the bus transportation is in the exclusive competence of the regional political level. In the Czech Republic there is the lowest convergence of the transport systems which are basically different for every region without a unifying element.
