Publication at Faculty of Medicine in Pilsen |

Abstract

Chemotherapy induced nausea and vomiting (CINV) is one of the most troubling side effects of chemotherapy from the patient point of view. Without antiemetic prophylaxis, CINV is present in more than 70% of patients.

The article is bringing the overview of chemotherapeutic agents and other preparations used in pneumooncology, with the stated grade of emetogenity. Than it states the recommendations for CINV prevention and treatment arising from recent NCCN, ASCO, MASCC guidelines.

Combination of aprepitant, setron plus corticosteroid is recommended for highly emetogenic chemotherapy.
