Abstract

Cognitive function include high psychic processes and operations(e.g. perception, attention, imagination, memory, thinking and speech). Their lifelong development and support should be an important part of prevention oriented on good quality of life.

Regular physical activity (PA) is a significant factor influencing cognitive function. Series of studies confirm significantly higher level of cognitive function in active elderly people and determine PA as main preventive tool against cognitive function degeneration accompanying ageing.

The potential of PA however lies also in the support of cognitive function in children, adults or people with disabilities.
