Idea of New Israel and Other (New) Rome in Historical Texts about Time of Troubles

Abstrakt

The paper observes formation and transformation of an idea of New Israel and Other (New) Rome in the historical texts about Time of Troubles in the wider context of Old Russian literature. The sources used are literary works representing a genre of the historical narrative.

All analysed texts were written either during the Time of Troubles or shortly afterwards.
