Abstract

Prostate cancer is a disease with high prevalence and variable aggressiveness. Due to the low specificity of prostate-specific antigen, new diagnostic markers that would better differentiate patients referred for prostate biopsy and also allow prediction of aggressive cancers are being researches.

Attention is also directed to methods of imaging both in the navigation accuracy of prostate biopsy and assessment of the local staging of cancer. Currently, the multiparametric magnetic resonance is used the most.
