Abstract
The author analyses all the articles, reviews and information on the topic published in the journal in its 50th years and shows that regardless of its importance within the Czech sociological discourse in the various stages of the development of the discipline, the presentation of the sociology of religion in the journal over the years was generally very limited due to both internal (sociologists of religion were not considered "core-members" of the sociological community) and external reasons (fear of what was considered a "problematic" topic during the communist era and the non-existence of "unsoiled" students of religion following the fall of the communist regime).
