Publication at Faculty of Education |
2014

Abstract

The paper is focused on chemistry experiments in chemistry education at non-chemical secondary vocational schools in the Czech Republic. As experiments are one of inseparable components of science education, their missing out has fatal impact on the educational outcome.

In this paper, the author offers results of a research focused on students' opinion about chemical experiment as well as the students' opinions on frequency of the experiment inclusion in chemistry education on elementary and secondary school. The results show that chemistry experiments at non-chemical vocational schools are quite rare.

Teachers probably lack methodological support to conduct experiments, maybe facing problems with insufficient equipment etc.
